IFIS Survey

On 4 April 2005, the Institut für Internet-Sicherheit (Institute for IT Security, IFIS) published the results of a survey ordered in July 2004 by the German Ministry of Economy and Employment.

Over 1000 German SME software companies have been asked about their expectations from software patents, with a focus on interoperability. The results show very clearly that the companies expect no benefits, but severe harm from software patents instead.
